the anchor handling tug supply vessel is specially modified to serve as a dedicated emergency towage vessel (etv). it is uniquely designed for emergency towage tasks, ready to respond to maritime casualties as directed. this vessel is particularly suited for emergency towage due to its bollard pull of 82 tonnes. it is also equipped to handle other maritime incidents, such as search and rescue operations and mitigating the effects of ship-sourced pollution, and carries oil pollution response equipment. additionally, while patrolling its designated areas, the etv is engaged for approximately 100 days each year in maintaining the aids to navigation network.
